In this artwork, I juxtapose a fusion of classical form and playful subversion.
The familiar silhouette of the Greek statue, a symbol of perfected masculinity, is disrupted by the Maneki-neko head and emerging arm from the groin, beckoning the viewer forward.
This collision of cultural icons, the idealized male form with the playful fortune cat, disrupts our expectations. The addition of a black bar, censoring the figures eyes, adds a layer of mystery, or sensuality.
