ABOUT THE ARTIST
I completed a PhD at the University of Tasmania in 2005. I am currently represented by Blenheim Gallery, Longford and I have a studio in Invermay where I currently work in painting, print and mixed media in abstract narrative and realistic form. I have taken part in many group and solo exhibitions around Tasmania, Australia and Japan.
ABOUT THE PIECE
My painting depicts a dancer moving in an unselfconscious state surrounded by colour, pattern and discordant lines to express rhythmic movement. In this space the interior merges with the exterior creating a dreamlike environment to enhance the rhythm of dance.
