Nepal’s river corridors are considered the source of civilisation for Kathmandu, the capital of Nepal. Kathmandu is one of the most archaic places in the world with continual habitation since the second century AD. Its multi-ethnic population consists of followers of the Hindu and Buddhist religions, with many people trusting in the idea of reincarnation. Salvador Dalí also believed in reincarnation and questioned from an early age if he was his deceased brother reincarnated.

This artwork depicts the river corridor that separates Kathmandu from the city Patan, with symbolism of motherhood and creation, much like the concept that Nepal’s river corridors have produced life for the people of Kathmandu.
