Japanese fairy tales - Urashima Taro

The Dalí Japanese fairy tales suite was published by Gerschmann, Stockholm/Yayoi, Tokyo, Japan. The total number of editions made was 300.

Urashima Taro (The Fisher Lad) tells the story of a fisherman that rescues a distraught turtle before returning it to a magical area under the sea called Ryūgū (dragon palace). The fisherman settles at the palace to spend time with the princess. Upon returning home he realises that he spent a hundred years at the palace even though he felt it was only days. The fisherman then transforms into an old man.
