Les Chants de Maldoror - face

Les Chants de Maldoror - face (The Songs of Maldoror – face) is part of a series of prints by Salvador Dalí, based on the French novel Les Chants de Maldoror. Published in 1869 by Compte de Lautréamont, the story became a significant influence on members of the Surrealist movement. Focussing on violent and strange themes about death and evil influences in life, the book provided inspiration for Dalí to create 44 etchings in the series.
