Study for Grasshopper Child is a study for the 1933 oil painting Myself at the Age of Ten When I Was the Grasshopper Child, which is on display at the Dalí Museum in St. Petersburg, Florida.
Grasshoppers are found within many of Dalí’s artworks. Since childhood, the grasshopper symbolised fear for him. By representing the insect within his art, he attempted to tackle his fears.
