Australia’s leading collector of Salvador Dali on paper, Dr. Brendan Vote, speaks with the ABC’s Kylie on his passions and professional life in northern Tasmania.
A passing interest turned lifelong pursuit, Dr. Vote has acquired over 1500 works from the surrealist master in 35 years - including etchings, lithographs, and early sketches.
His collection is now open for public display at the Not For Profit ‘dAda mUse’ gallery in Launceston, currently spotlighting works from Dali’s Imagination and Objects of the Future and Hommage to Leonardo DaVinci suites.
Outside of appreciating art, Dr. Vote currently practices locally as an ophthalmic surgeon, whilst participating in a variety of community outreach programs around the world.
