Two or three days later, Nanna came and sat on a stool beside her mother. The little girl looked sad and bored.
"What is it, my child?" asked her mother. "You seem less cheerful than usual."
"Oh, Mama, Rosamonde is very beautiful, but..."
"Well?"
"But I would so love to have my poor Lilly back, who is up there all alone in the storage room."
"But your bed is too small for both dolls, what will you do with the beautiful Rosamonde?"
Little Nanna thought for a moment, then burst out laughing, and, wrapping her two little arms around her mother's neck, she cried out gaily:
"Well, mother, we'll put her in storage too! She won't ruin her pretty dress up there. I have enough of seeing her pretty face!"
